For Real

OCTOBER 2ND, 2009 is that for real, that was my last post. Where in the world does time go. Up to speed, we had a wonderful fall, great Thanksgiving and super nice and relaxing Christmas. We are so blessed and I am grateful. I am sitting her staring at my window at the pine trees and enjoying how beautiful it is and thinking about the Haiti victims. Sad, sad, sad. I wonder how many children are hungry, lonely, scared and all alone. It makes me once again eternally grateful.

Spring is coming bringing numerous projects and I am ready. I started tomato seeds and they are up. Too early I am afraid but that is okay, it broke up the winter doldrums. Sold 12 chickens today, including two roosters so that is great. Will put the money back into feed but that is okay. We ordered 10 ducklings last spring, 9 made it. They need a much bigger pen and soon. Tomorrow wouldn't be soon enough, but we will just wait and see how it goes. Fencing costs money. They are Indian runner ducks and they are hilarious to watch. Split my chickens up. Three coops now, one for the layers, one for the BBS Orpingtons and one for the Ameraucaunas. I will hatch pure chicks from these breeds and sell them hopefully. Fingers crosed. I have six eggs in the incubator but don't think they are fertile. Will candle them on Firday and again next Monday and see.
