Another Beautiful Day!

It is 11:30 am and I am sort of moving slowly today. Mariah has a friend over and they have been running around outside and playing in the pool. Makes me realize once again how blessed we are to live where we do. God has been so amazing good to us.

This morning we finished rotortilling the area where we will be planting the alfalfa. Grandpa has a rotortiller that attaches to the back of the lawn tractor for big areas and so it works great and no real phyiscal labor. This alfalfa planting is a complete experiment. First off we don't have a huge field and second of all it is already the middle of June so it is late to be planting. All we want out of this deal is enough alfalfa to feed the goats through the year. We will see.

Weeded the garden and picked some strawberries and fresh pea pods and ate them. YUM! We are suppose to be picking the strawberry blooms off but I missed one.

Got a new egg customer yesterday, right here in the neighborhood which is excellent bucause that means no delivery. The baby chicks that are now about two months old decided that they are brave and can come out of the chicken coop and run around. I have no idea what kind of chickens these are and I can't really tell if they are pullets or roos. I may a ton of roos to get rid of.

I started some lavender starts this morning by rooting some cuttings. I have no idea if this will work but I already have people lined up to buy if they start.

I would like to start making soap. I think lavender soap would be a great thing. I need to figure out how to do it. Also I would like to make candles. Two things I need to look into.
