A Bargain or a Steal

After church the other day I stopped at the discount store to pick up a pool filter and they were having this 75% off sale. I looked around to see if there was anything that I might find that I could put to good use. For $24.96 I came out of the store with a package of three permanent Sharpie markers, a pool filter, two Stocking Stuffers and FOUR trees! Two of the trees are Colorado Spruce, one of them is two feet tall while the other around 4 feet tall. The two foot tall tree was originally $45 and the four foot tree was originally $90. The two weeping cherry trees were originally $55 each. The beauty of this sale was that the trees only were 75% off the 50% sale price. Then they let me have both the spruce trees at the smallest price. I paid just $2.52 each for the Spruce trees and around $5 each for the Weeping Cherry trees.

Planted this weeping cherry out in the back yard mixed in with the flowers

This weeping cherry we planted out in the front by the porch mixed in with the wild flower bed

We planted both of the Colorado Spruce trees out on the bank in front - one of them is much bigger than the other.

We love trees and are very happy with this find. Also our neighbor who works for the Forest Service gave us 30 Ponderosa Pine trees last week so we have planted those also. We cut out the old Locust trees and planted 25 of the Ponderosa Pines in between the ones we left. Hopefully in a couple of years those nasty locust trees can be taken out.
