New Kids on the Farm..

Well after waiting very impatiently and deciding it was never going to happen, last Saturday the 26th I went out to do chores and heard this noise I had never heard before. I at first thought it was bird but after about a second it suddenly dawned on me what it was. I went tearing down to the goat pasture and there was a baby on the ground, then I spotted another one and another one. When I realized the mother was our goat Hope I was shocked because I was sure Jill would have her kids first. We had Maya our third doe in the kidding pen so I ran up to the house and got warm towels and move the babies up to the barn with a heatlamp. Then I went back and got Hope and brought her up. She is a wonderful mother, she takes care of her babies very well and doesn't mind letting friends and family come to see new additions.

The littlest one weighed in at 1 and a half pounds and it a beautiful little doeling with blue eyes.

Then there is this little doeling that is also a sweetheart at 2 pounds. We called her noisy at first because she wasn't afraid to let us she wasn't happy.

At 3 pounds was a little blue eye buckling that it very cute and I think will make a wonderful buck.

They were the new kids on the block for three days until Maya decided to kid out at 12:30 in the morning on Wednesday. We had gotten back from Spokane at 8:30 pm and Dale was up and just happened to hear the babies. Here is Maya's kids.

A little doeling that weighed in about 2 and a half pounds and looks like her Momma.

And a little buckling who was quite a bit bigger and I think will make a wonderful wether for some family.

Jill, the doe that I thought would kid out first, is still hanging on. She is huge and her udder is getting bigger everyday and she is showing no signs of impending labor. I hope I don't follow her example in August.
