Today was a great day, slept in until 8 am. Wonderful peaceful sleep even with the puppy whining on the floor next to the bed, he was fussing for his breakfast and water. I told him to go lay down and be quiet, put the pillow back over my head and ignored him. Started some apple butter before church and then finished when I got home. We had some apples that needed eaten and I didn't want to waste them, it tasted delicious. Only made four freezer containers but hey that is four that wasn't in the freezer this morning.
Went to church and because our children's worker wasn't there I volunteered for children's church. It was great fun. After a lunch of barbequed chicken, baked potatoes, asparagus, snow peas and green beans it was outside to work. It had quit snowing and raining enough to get half of the garden fence up before we ran out of fencing, I love pounding in fence posts with the post hole driver. That and the pitchfork are two of my most favorite outside tools.
Still trying to figure out where to put the turkey pen and if I should order poults or hatching eggs. I think poults this year and then hatch some eggs next year.
I love living on my little homstead. Lots of hard work, but most things in this life that are worth living for are.
