Life on the homestead has been changing in lots of different ways. We sold the turkeys in December, they went to a good home with a man who plans to breed them. I miss their turkeys noises and gobbles but they were one more thing to take care of. I enjoyed them the 9 months I had them and having them made me realize I would like to have more some day.
We still have the geese and the ducks and they will be staying here. We lost one of our Runner hens and one of our Welsh Harlequin drakes this winter. There seems to be no reason for their deaths and I am still not sure what happened to them. We found them Christmas day.
Chickens are still laying but the production has been really slow; hopefully it will pick up in spring.

Congrats!!! What wonderful news! Do you know if its a boy or girl (or are you going to find out?)
Our hens has slowed down a little too with eggs but not as much as I had expected. We went from getting 4-5 eggs a day from 5 hens to 3-4 now. On a rare day we'll only get 1 or 2.
Wow, the baby won't be here till 2012? Honey you sure are gonna be tired by the end of that pregnancy!
LOL, that was funny, I have changed it to 2011.
