Thanksgiving gracefully slipped away today as the decorations were put away and the pumpkins thrown in the compost bin for the chickens to eat. I cooked some of them but since they are a natural dewormer for chickens they had to have their share. We had a wonderful Thanksgiving meal with my sister's family, I always knew my sis could cook, but oh WOW, can she cook! It was a fun relaxing meal and even Emilee did good. She and I ate on the living room floor, not because we weren't allowed at the table but because she was more comfortable there. She put away the food at that meal. I truly spent the day relaxing and counting my blessings. We are so blessed.
Today the Christmas decorations were put up. Josh did the outside lights and to be honest I was very worried about how they would look but WOW, he did an awesome job. Mariah was a great help in the house decorating. We turned our house into a Christmas paradise. We are excited about the Christmas tree but we decided we should wait because we love fresh cut trees and with the wood stove we don't want it to dry out and die or even worse catch fire.
Mom and I were at it again on Black Friday this year. I picked her up at 3:15 AM and we headed down the river. We shopped at JCPenneys, Wal-Mart, Shop-Ko, K-Mart, D& B Farm Supply, Ace Hardware, Walgreens, RiteAid, and Christian Gift Center all before 10 o' clock. We then grabbed a bite to eat and headed to Jo-Anns Fabric, Waseams, Bi-Mart and Real Deals. We gassed up the car and was home before 12:45 pm. What a great day. Came home and had a small sit-down and then started the gift wrapping process. I need to re-eveluate my gift lists and then finish some of hand-made presents and then get two boxes in the mail. My deadline for mailing the boxes is the 10th of December. I need to get busy. I was very busy today and need to have about two more weeks of busy days.
