We have new baby pheasants...

Yesterday the first pheasant made it appearance and it was stuck in the shell, my humidity was off due to the chicken incident. I helped him/her out of the shell and left the rest alone. Well now this one pheasant will not be quiet and is peeping its head off unless we are there to talk to it and hold it. Look at this first picture, can you guess which one it is?

It is the one looking at the camera as if to say "oh there is my mommy"!

The incubator was bleached immediately following the hatch and now there is 33 duck eggs in there. Will candle in one week, throw the bad ones and fill the spots with chicken eggs.

A wonderful day followed by a delicious fish dinner shared with Nana and Poppy and Jewelia (Josh's girlfriend). Fried fish, potatoes, homemade rolls and sugar and cream lettuce. YUMMY!!!

I have to ask... what is cream lettuce?

Sugar and cream lettuce is something my mom grew up on. You take some cream and a little sugar with a splash of vinegar and then stir in fresh garden lettuce. The lettuce is just moist not drippy. I thought it sounded weird but it was surprisingly good. Actually four out of five of my family memebers enjoyed it. The other being my 15 year old son won't even try it. LOL
